~*~*~
Sakura was still gazing at Sasuke with gentle eyes, though she was almost over of her crush for him. It had left her when Sasuke had come back from Orochimaru and had acted like she was air to him, saying that she was not the reason for his return. It still hurt, but less and less… one day at a time.
It did still made her ache to see Sasuke and not being able to touch him, not being able to make him feel anything for her. He seemed to only see Naruto, his best friend... that pest. Naruto was found more and more on the Uchiha estate, until finally, some time ago, Sakura had heard that the blond man had given up his little apartment and moved in with Sasuke.
They were still the best of friends and the worst of rivals. Even after all those years he had been gone... in the end, some things never changed. She sighed and glared at the two men not so far away. They were locked together, Sasuke pinning Naruto to the ground and Naruto fighting against him with everything he got. Soon they were running in circles, throwing kunais at each other.
Sakura clanged at the tree where their former teacher sat reading a book, picking up berries from a small basket next to him, throwing every other one of them into his companions mouth, as Iruka lazily laid on the ground under him. Sakura shook her head, bah, those lazy men…
She was getting tired of this sitting and goofing around, she wanted to go back to the hospital where she worked, but they had just gotten a mission together, the three of them. This was a rare reunion and Sakura had hoped that the boys would have been a bit more… adult, about it. Narutos company seemed to turn Sasuke into a goofy child too, although he still kept his expressionless look. Still… he had changed, in a way that Sakura could not define.
Soon it was getting late and they finally had to leave. They said their goodbyes to the men under the tree, leaving the village in a hurry. They would have to run for the rest of the night to get where they were going by the morning. Naruto led the way, using his loud voice to guide the others ahead. The boy had grown into a man. He had really grown, he was taller than Sasuke, who was also a head taller than Sakura. They had both developed muscular and beautiful bodies, but Sasuke was still lean and beautiful where Naruto was bulky and handsome.
All the girls in the village were still head over heels for Sasuke, the boy had grown into an amazing beauty. The black eyes like pools of darkness you could easily drown into. Sometimes Sakura felt like it was a little unfair that Naruto was so handsome too but never got the attention Sasuke had. Of course people noticed him, but most of the attention he got was negative, the villagers still whispered about the demon fox inside the man… it was not like Naruto was bad… and these days he could control the kyuubi much better, he had grown into a strong ninja.
Sakura looked at his companions one at a time and smiled warmly. She had great friends, she felt safe with them, safe and like home.
Finally they arrived where they were going and quickly finished the given assignment, delivering some very important papers to a very important diplomat. Everything went well until a group of armed men attacked them. With their abilities they won them quickly and were soon heading for an inn to get some sleep. Unfortunately for the weary travellers, the inn was full and they had to find a safe place outside the village. Sakura was not happy but either of the men seemed to mind, so she followed them, soon finding herself outside a half rotten little hut.
Both men carried their little belongings into the hut and set out the camp. They would spend at least two days here to wait for the next instructions. Naruto challenged Sasuke to a fight and soon the men were jumping from tree to tree, filling the little forrest with the sound of flying kunais and Naruto's loud yells. Sakura sat to the porch of the hut to watch and rest.

It was the third day in the same place. They were suppose to move a day ago, but the instructions had only said to wait for a day longer. So, they waited.
The boys had been at it the whole day… snapping at each other and grapping each other, growling and grunting, dragging each other away behind the trees and bushes only to come back with rumbled clothes and looking exhausted. Why the hell could they not fight for one single day?
Sakura was so tired of it, really, she loved these guys but… still, she would have expected the men to have grown up at least a bit, they were over 20, and they still acted like 12 around each other. Right now, all she wanted was to this mission to end and to go home, fast.
When the night finally came, she let the boys go to sleep first, because she really did not want them start pickering at each other about the first watch. When they tried to disagree, she yelled at them and pointed at the door of the hut. The men went in quietly.
It was quiet for a long time, blessed calm! She relaxed herself, leaning to the wall and ripping at random crass in front of her, keeping her concentration in the forrest around them.
Then she heard some strange noises from the hut. 'Agh… not again!' she ground her teeth together. Why couldn’t they just sleep, if she would find either of them beaten into a bloody pulp in the morning, she would not help either of them, no, not even if she would get to tie Sasukes wounds. She closed her eyes for a second, breathing deep and concentrating on the task at hand, forgetting the sounds, they seemed muffled anyways, so the boys probably tried to hide their fighting from her… childish.
Some hours later it was finally quiet again. The sun was rising, the first rays of light touched the land. She was getting very tired and all she wanted was some rest, so she decided to wake one of the boys to take their turn. She trotted up the stairs of the hut quietly and yanked the door open.
… And collapsed to her knees. Her eyes shot wide and a little whimper escaped her lips. Suddenly all the noises made a lot more sense.
Sasuke, his pale bare backside was right in front of her. It would have been a lovely sight, if it weren’t for Narutos tangled limbs all over Sasukes, distracting her from the beautiful pale skin.
The men were holding each other closely, gently. Arms wrapped around each other, legs tangled over each other, fingers entwined into each others hair. Naruto seemed to still have his underwear on, but even those looked rumbled and worn, rising up and revealing more scarred, rough, ninja skin and a white mess all over them. They looked completely peaceful within each others arms.
Sakura closed the door in front of her and sat quietly on the porch, staring at the door. Suddenly she was wide awake again.
The boys slept well, long to the morning, and woke up being very relaxed and satisfied. The only thing that bothered Sasuke was the cold wind that made his butt freeze… so he turned them lazily around and let Naruto warm him up.
